The battery must not be left discharged in the remote control, we recommend that you recharge it every 5 months and replace it in the remote control, in this way the remote control will not lose your quick lists.

Storage temperature and charge.

Storing a lithium ion battery at the correct temperature and charge makes a difference in maintaining its charge capacity. The following table shows the permanent charge loss that occurs when stored at a given charge level and temperature.

There is a significant benefit to avoiding storing a lithium-ion battery at full charge. A Li-ion battery stored at 40% charge will last many times longer than one stored at 100%, especially at high temperatures.

If a lithium-ion battery is stored with too little charge, there is a risk of allowing the charge to fall below the low-voltage threshold, resulting in an unrecoverable battery. Once the charge has fallen below that level, recharging can be dangerous. An internal safety circuit will open to prevent recharging, and the battery will be completely unusable for all practical purposes.

In circumstances where a second lithium battery is available for a given instrument, it is recommended that the unused battery be discharged to 40% and placed in a refrigerator to extend its shelf life. Batteries should be allowed to warm up to room temperature for 24 hours before each charge or discharge.

Security issues.

PRECAUTIONS:

Lithium-ion batteries can easily rupture, catch fire, or explode when exposed to high temperatures or direct sunlight. They should not be kept in the car during hot weather. Shorting a lithium battery can cause fire and explosion.

The container of a Li-Ion battery should never be opened for any reason, they contain safety devices that protect the batteries, if damaged, these can also cause the battery to catch fire or explode.
