High image detail throughout the entire magnification range, from 2.5x to 20x
The 2.5-20x variable magnification improves focus and overall object recognition at significant distances. The HD sensor allows for maintaining a high level of image detail throughout the entire magnification range. The zoom varies either incrementally in 2x steps or continuously, thus obtaining a customized field of view to magnification ratio for each situation.
Wide field of view
Merger LRF XL50 offers a wide field of view for easy exploration and object identification. Explore the landscape in high quality with a 14-degree field of view and an optimal magnification of 2.5x. The large format sensor allows for the best ratio between field of view and magnification even at high zoom, up to 20x. Use the “Picture-in-picture” function to simultaneously see both the object in the frame in detail and the surrounding environment.
User Mode
Adjust contrast and brightness to maximize the rendering of details and the informative value of the images in every observation condition. The User mode saves the contrast and brightness settings in the device memory, providing immediately an optimal image quality in future uses of the thermal imager, without the need for further adjustments.
Outstanding detection distance of 2300m
A powerful objective lens, combined with a professional HD 1024x768 pixel / 12 µm thermal sensor, ensures exceptional detection capabilities. A normal object with a height of 180 cm can be detected from a distance of up to 2300 meters in complete darkness.
Classic binocular design
The Merger LRF thermal binoculars are built with the classic daytime binocular design. With a small size, these binoculars fit comfortably in the hand, while offering pleasing aesthetics and ideal ergonomics. The six control buttons are located in an easily accessible area, while the most frequently used functions of the device can be activated with a single touch.
Comfortable viewing experience with both eyes
The optical design of the Merger LRF binoculars takes full account of the characteristics of the human eye. It is natural for a person to receive visual information simultaneously through two visual channels. Observing with two eyes is more relaxing than using only one. This results in more effective detection of small or blurry objects, and better performance in low-contrast situations compared to thermal monoculars with similar characteristics. The interpupillary distance in the Merger LRF binoculars is adjustable between 62 and 74 mm, in order to adapt to every user.
Accurate laser rangefinder with distance measurement up to 1000m
Correctly determining the distance to the target is essential to making the right decision. A built-in laser rangefinder with a range of 1 km allows you to measure the distance with single readings and perform continuous scans with an accuracy of ± 1 meter, thus obtaining a quick and correct assessment of any situation.
Combined system with two independent batteries
The Merger LRF XL50 is powered by two rechargeable batteries, a built-in 4Ah battery and a replaceable 3.2Ah battery. A single charge provides long battery life. The raised part on the removable battery body allows you to accurately determine its position and perform a quick and safe replacement simply by relying on the touch, even in complete darkness.

Fast aperture germanium lens F50/1.0
The F50/1.0 germanium lens is characterized by a high infrared transmission in the long-wave infrared range (LWIR). Thanks to the extreme precision in the construction of the optical elements of the lens, the image generated by the thermal sensor of the Merger LRF binoculars is characterized by sharpness and richness of detail.
Rugged magnesium alloy housing
Merger LRF is designed for continuous and often rough use. The magnesium alloy housing is lightweight yet durable, providing protection for the thermal device's internal components from impacts, drops, moisture, heat, and cold. The metal housing also effectively removes heat from the electronics, helping the instrument operate smoothly over long observations.
Built-in photo and video recorder
The Merger LRF features a built-in video recorder. The internal memory can store hours of footage and tens of thousands of photos. A simple press of a button is all it takes to take a photo or start recording a video, which can then be transferred to a computer via USB-C. Merger LRF owners have 16GB of free storage in the Pulsar Cloud, for storing photos and videos taken with their instrument. Simply install the Stream Vision 2 app, log in, and connect the instrument to a smartphone via Wi-Fi.
Stream Vision 2. Wi-Fi connection with iOS and Android devices
The built-in WiFi module connects the Merger LRF to Android and iOS smartphones via the Stream Vision 2 app. This allows for a variety of operations, including wirelessly updating the device’s software, real-time image transmission from the device to the smartphone, posting photos and videos taken with the instrument to social media, remotely controlling digital features, and accessing the latest Pulsar news. Registered users also get 16GB of cloud storage for saving photos and videos taken with their device.
Support 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi dual frequency band
In the Merger LRF thermal binoculars, the standard 2.4 GHz frequency band for WiFi connection with smartphones is complemented by an efficient 5 GHz frequency band. The latter offers better bandwidth, faster data transfer, noise protection and greater connection stability, resulting in easier and more effective operation between the thermal device and a smartphone.
High contrast AMOLED HD display
Merger's HD AMOLED displays deliver a clear, contrast-rich, and vibrantly colorful field of vision, and AMOLED technology ensures smooth, flawless, high-resolution images while saving power.
Selection between 8 color palettes
A choice of 8 color palettes allows the user to observe the field of view more effectively, optimizing the device for specific tasks, as well as adapting to changes in observation conditions. White Hot, Black Hot and Red Hot are ideal for object detection; Rainbow and Ultramarine increase the chances of recognition and identification. Red Monochrome, Sepia and Violet are best suited for long night observations.
IPX7 waterproof level resistant to immersion
The IPX7 waterproof rating ensures protection from torrential rain, snow and other precipitation. The unit is designed to function flawlessly even when submerged in water up to one meter deep for 30 minutes.
Operation in extreme temperatures, from -25 to + 50°C
The Merger LRF housing, power supply, optics and electronics are designed to operate over a very wide temperature range. Merger provides effective and reliable performance even at very low temperatures, down to - 25°C.
Proximity sensor for use in the dark
For observation in dark situations it is necessary to be invisible, so that the animals do not notice our presence. Putting the device in stand-by using the Display Off function is a common way to prevent the backlight from coming from the eyepieces. To simplify this operation Merger LRF has a built-in proximity sensor.
It works as a display switch to prevent backlight exposure in the dark. When the device is moved away from the eyes, the proximity sensor turns off both displays, and when it is brought closer again, both displays are activated, providing excellent image quality.
